The starting of the cultural village also has helped in reducing the human pressure on the park’s resources. This is because this village project provides employment opportunities to the local people hence improving their lives; they get jobs from vegetables and mushroom farming, bee keeping and tourism. This has helped in increasing safaris to Rwanda hence developing the tourism sector.
Iby’Iwacu offers a busy programme which lasts two hours and also slots after a morning mountain gorilla trekking tour. This setting is a fantastic wooden and thatched replica of traditional Rwandan Palace; it has also got an ideal stage for traditional Intore dancers which helps them to share their drumming and dance routines. This has helped in attracting many safaris in Uganda.
The cultural village also offers guided walks to the tourists who come for safari visits to Rwanda. This village walk takes around an hour and you can freely take photos as you engage in the walk around the villages of Rwanda.
The activities which tourists who come for safaris to the cultural village engage in include; community walks, visiting the king’s house replica, the famous songs of the gorillas sang by the famous Nyayabatema, visiting the traditional healer, visiting the local schools, prepare and have lunch with the local people, engage in Ex- poacher’s way of hunting, attend the local banana brewery process and many others which can be enjoyed by the tourists.
