Mountain Gorilla tracking in Uganda


Uganda’s best tourist attraction and also one of the world’s most favourable encounters is tracking the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and in Virunga volcanoes, where over 800 gorillas are found. These mountain gorillas have greatly helped in increasing gorilla trekking safaris to Uganda.
Mountain gorillatracking is one of the most exclusive wildlife encounters in Uganda and it has been enjoyed by many tourists who have travelled to Uganda. In order to minimise effect to the endangered mountain gorillas, only eight people have been allowed to track a particular group in a day.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is also a home to unique wildlife which includes 350 species of birds, 310 butterflies, there are also 200 tree species, 120 mammals, 51 reptiles and 88 species of months and these include the mountain gorillas ,the chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, grey- cheeked mangabey, L’ Hoest’s monkey and ,many others. All these attractions have helped in increasing safaris to Uganda.
On addition to Gorilla tracking, Bwindi also offers bird watching safaris, since it’s considered to be one of the top bird watching destinations in Uganda, and it has a total of 350 species of Birds. These have attracted many tourists to visit Bwindi.
Mgahinga National park is also a home to mountain gorillas and the golden monkeys; these have attracted many mountain gorilla trekking safaris and golden monkey tracking to Mgahinga. The park has got the three dormant volcanoes that are always climbed by those interested in mountain climbing.
